Received my completion certificate today 16 months after my final payment into my IVA. Had the usual excuses from Kingsgate Insolvency about outstanding ppi claims which came to nothing.
Now I've got the certificate what do I do with it now? Do I need to send it to anyone as proof of completion or does the system automatically update my credit file??

Fab news on receiving your completion certificate.

I've put a couple of links below as they may help you.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

That's great news and a welcome 'present' in time for Christmas.

Many thanks for the links, yes it was a lovely present to receive on xmas eve. It has been the hardest 6 years of my life and thought it would never end. Now it's time to rebuild my life and credit score and try and move on from my mistake. Onwards and upwards from now on!!

I'm sorry 16 months after completion is totally unacceptable. IP firms like this should not be allowed to get away with this as it is effectively putting peoples lives on hold. I believe there should be better regulation of IP's in some form to stop this sort of behaviour happening. All this PPI claims should be done at the beginning of the IVA and not used as an excuse at the end to prolong the whole process

This is a very broad generalisation and there are some very good IP's out there but the industry gives the impression that it is run by people who could not cope with being proper accountants.

Companies are failing both creditors and debtors and the IP's have to take some of the blame for that.

We will never know the real story until companies start publishing completion success rates and an accurate figure linked to the time taken to issuing certificates.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

When I send off my copy of my completion certificate to Experian, Equifax etc do they require all the documentation that my IP sent me (final report of the supervisor, Receipts and Payments page, Schedule of Creditor Claims/Distributor claims or will the completion certificate be enough?

They just require a copy of your completion letter and that will be enough.
