Dear all,
We are about to make our last IVA payment in Feb, due to a 12-month extension in lieu of equity and a 2-month payment break all of our defaults are now off our credit file as the defaults started in December 2009, we want to start rebuilding our credit score , do we need to wait until we get our CC and are off the insolvency register before applying for a credit card we can pay off each month or can we apply for one now?

Mark

Hi,

I'd wait until you get that letter but what you could try in the meantime is a soft search via Capital and they will tell you whether or not you are eligible for a card and it won't show up on your credit record.
