Hiya does anybody know anything regarding the above? I have paid off my IVA in April but I'm just selling my house owned with my ex. He has lived there for the last 4 years but been behind with the mortgage payments so this has had an effect on my credit file. Completion date for house is next Fri so that will be paid off and iva will come off later in year but I don't know how these accounts will impact on my credit score. Thanks.
Any late payments on the mortgage, if reported to the credit reference agencies, will remain on your file for at least 6 years and affect your rating. You can, if you wish, lodge a Notice of Correction, explaining the situation, so lenders can see the whys and wherefors.

Thanks Foggy. I have been renting for the last 4 years and never missed a payment. Maybe this is a stupid question but it says it stays on your credit file from your first report. If there has been several do they take it from the first reporting or the most recent one. Thanks.
It depends on how it has been reported. If it is a default the date is the date of default and time runs from that date. If it is simply reported as a late, short, or missed payment each report will have its own time scale, so will disappear in turn until the last goes.
