Are you still in your iva?
If yes your inheritance should have been declared to your provider.
I'm no expert but hopefully some one will be along to answer the question soon.

If you are in an IVA the inheritance belongs to your creditors, not to you.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

My inheritance was paid directly to my IVA company by my solicitor as I had to sign a form to declare I was in an IVA. It was deemed a windfall under the terms of my IVA

Same here Michelled.

Marc - i would suggest you have a conversation with your IP if you are still in an iva as your creditors are entitled to full reimbursement plus statutory interest potentially and you may now find yourself in a very difficult position.

If you are in an IVA and did not disclose this inheritance you could be liable to bankruptcy proceedings and even criminal sanction. You need to tell your IP immediately so they can advise you what to do next.

Oh Dear - No, I'm afraid this was not okay. If your IP finds out about this your IVA is highly likely to fail, they might bankrupt you and you could find the house being repossessed and sold in Bankruptcy.

It seems the solicitors dealing with the estate did not do their job properly - they should have done an IVA search.
