We paid off our IVA with Varden Nuttall on 5th October 2016 in full, and I rang them today to get an update on completion and was told as they are having problems it would normally take 6 months but it will take much longer and they cannot give me any idea on the length of time until we receive our completion certificate, is this correct is there anything we can do.

VN are in administration and there have been court cases in the past about closure of files. All you can really do is speak with the administrators and see if there is any way the cases can be closed and perhaps you could consider making a formal complaint. However if the cases cannot be closed and this is not the fault of the administrators then I think there may be little that you can do.

Frustrating as it is unfortunately there is little you can do to speed things up in these circumstances - if it were me I would contact them monthly for an update up to 6 months from closure then maybe fortnightly there after but in these situations they physically not be able to move things forward in a timely fashion.
