The creditors will look at what is on the table now -- they will not be delving into past records or applications. In some cases they will be represented by an agent who has no prior knowledge of your account or conduct.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

ah ok. Guess i forget size of industry & how insignificant i am in it. Thanks so much Foggy & everyone!! Sorry for wrecking heads. Genuinely would pay the whole lot back if i had it. Feel so ashamed & angry at myself for the mess iv created for myself over last 20 years. Robbing peter to pay paul as my dear old granny used to say.

I wish I had taken control of my debts well before I did, but at the end of the day we have all taken that huge step to confront our debt and try to pay back as much as we can. If like me, you will find the creditors have had quite a bit extra in all the interest they have charged over the years of burying our heads in the sand.

In 5 years time you will be looking back on these dark days, thinking I wished I did it years ago. Good luck :)
4 years in

All of us feel the same - I kept mine secret from my husband for a long time until a creditor phoned me on my birthday and he just happened to be at home.

It got to stage where I would go to hole in the wall with my credit card, draw out enough to cover my monthly payment, head into the bank and pay it across.

Kallis that is exactly what I ended up doing. Sat in car at son's school working out what I could afford to pay and taking what I couldn't out on a credit card ( my purse so much thinner these days with just 1 debit card). Used to feel so ashamed. So john79 we have all robbed Peter to pay paul but you are moving forward now!

It is a horrible feeling - we did at least get to sort ourselves out.

just sincerely hope i get given the chance to sort myself out once and for all. Iv been foolish, made lots of stupid decisions, buried head in sand, but now i want to draw line in sand finally. I want to pay creditors back as much as possible, and show iv finally wised up and am willing to put the hard yards in to resolve things.

You will be fine - you can see how we all struggled and got there in the end.
