Hi,
It's been a while since I posted on the forum. Our IVA (last payment) was in March 2012. We didn't receive our completion certificate until September 2013 after a long battle resulting in us signing over all future PPI.
Today my husband has received a letter from one of his creditors stating that he has been underpaid PPI from a previous settlement by less than £100.00. They have forwarded this payment to our Insolvency Practitioner. No problem.
My point is, after all this time, will our file be reopened to distribute such a small sum and if not who actually gets this money? Incidentally, we have yet to receive the statutory interest on the PPI that was paid into our arrangement and part of the agreement with signing the 'spotty letter'. Thanks in advance for replies.
Hi Katy --- I would imagine it would cost more to distribute £100 than it is worth, so they should give it back to you. I would also be chasing the interest that is rightfully yours --- however, this might fall down to timing --- any PPI claims that were in progress before you signed the "spotty letter" will not be covered by this and they will keep the interest! The whole thing might also be further complicated by the restructuring and re-naming of the company, but should not be a bar to them honouring their responsibilities.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
