My IVA is due to drop off my credit file after 26/4/2019 as this is 6 years from the date it was approved but I have noticed that even though my IVA was settled by full and final a few years ago, 1 account still shows as defaulted and not settled as the others do, what do I need to do regarding this? I also note that all of the now settled accounts show the date of default as being a date after 26/4/2013 which is the date the IVA was approved so I would like to get these all tidied up and showing the correct dates so come 26/4/2019 any reference to my IVA and defaults will drop off my credit record, please can someone provide any advice regarding doing this? Looking at my credit file the account numbers for the specific account are not shown for me to reference should I need to write to them to ask for the information be corrected.

The status of the account doesn't matter -- when the default drops off so will everything else. Have a read here about the default dates -- I have put a template in the article which you can adapt: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

Any note of default or partially settled make not one iota of difference until the 6 year date is reached. Your creditor will not even go through the motions of amending anything, including what you may think of as being recorded incorrectly, until that date. Things like this, although troubling to you, can not be rushed or solved until the creditor makes the change or you make a record of correction after the 6 year point.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues

Oh so there is not even any point my asking them to amend the default dates to the correct date the IVA was approved until after they should have dropped off my credit file next April?
Seems unfair they can’t just correct the dates in the first place so that there are no undue delays following the 6 years when they should actually drop off the credit file.
I just thought I would start the ball rolling so it disappears come April 2019 but if no point because they won’t do anything until after this date I won’t waste my time

I have to disagree with Merlin. The creditors are obliged to use the correct default dates and should amend them, when requested, in order that they drop off at the 6 year mark. The status, however, is a moveable feast, but will disappear when the default does anyway.

I agree with Foggy, contact them now and get it amended. Also have you checked all 3 of your credit reports - Experian, Equifax/clearscore and Callcredit/Noddle?
