I'm so worried and stressed my iva won't be accepted.
Since I started working full time a year n half ago my finances got out of control I've even kept it from my husband, I've been so stressed my body had taken it's toll hair loss/ medical problems an I'm only 32. My husband thought it was to do with work as I have a stressful job but I love it I'm a teaching assistant in a special needs school.
Anyway I finally had no choice to phone a help line and started process of iva didn't realise how much it all was until I was told over the phone and it's worse than I thought nearly £20k told everything to husband. Creditors meeting is 15th August but I'm even more stressed n anxious I keep getting chest pains is this all normal to feel this way for people who have gone through this process?
Yes it is, up until the point that you have been totally upfront with yourself and admit you need help. Your husband needs to be your best friend right now and you need to be fully committed to your decision to seek financial help. Good news is it really does get better, the IVA gives you back control of your disposable income. Everything is catered for and you are free to spend the remainder (what little it is) on what you need to keep going forward. Good luck on your proposal meeting and try to stay strong in the though it will get better.

You will be all over the place for a while, and a few days after it has been accepted ... but it will all settle down and a great weight will be lifted.
I thought my debt was about £40k -- when it was all tallied up it turned out to be more than £60k! If I had hair it would have gone grey on the spot !!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yes it is normal - I went through that and once I sorted it out with my husband we were fine.

I'm new on here and in the process of applying for an iva. I too have never been so stressed in all my life,i mean i know i got myself into this mess but i wouldnt wish this on anyone. I've had headaches, chest pains and constantly feel sick made worse by the fact my initial creditors meeting was last week then ajourned until the 9th plus I'm with a company called Creditfix and read some awful reviews on them. I've lost weight and a lot of sleep wondering if i've done the right thing...
You will be stressed - nothing to stop you approaching a smaller company if nothing has been agreed with CF.

You have to have signed the proposal that CF will have produced. If you haven't you are free to seek advice from other companies and if you want go with them rather than CF. This isn't something you need to rush as it is going to affect the next 5 to 6 years of your life.

CF is not a company I would choose, but, as long as you drive the IVA and keep on their backs, as well as making sure you understand the agreement inside out, you could do worse!
They simply do not pay enough attention to individual cases and terms, but generally accept when they are wrong and it is pointed out to them. You also need to get used to operating in the dark and have to work for any information from them.
Oh, and do not give them access to your bank account ... sending paper copies is sufficient.
