Hi.
I just want to know is it common to still receive messages from your DMP company, once your plan has been settled and no longer on the public register?
Ive just had a text message to call them about a PPI refund. What money was proven misold, has been long paid to them, so unless they're going to give me a refund, which is very unlikely, I don't want to add to my phone bill to call them or to be pestered by them any further.
Are these out of the blues contacts necessary?
PPI isn't normally payable into a DMP -- so I am guessing they are trying to generate leads for a second income string or a third party claims company. By your reference to beig on the public register I assume you mean an IVA. If this is the case the PPI is payable to the IVA and they are all scrabbling to get it while they can --- the looming deadline has put this in all IP's minds and, I imagine, we will all be getting last ditch attempts at claiming. No-one has yet discovered what, if anything, they can do to compel co-operation, but, quite frankly it isn't worth the agnst and sweat to fight.

So in short, I think I'll ignore the message from them. A PPI was paid into the IVA and there isn't anymore to get as far as I'm concerned.
They contacted me just after I received the completion certificate on this, which wasn't fruitful for them then, so this is outright abuse of my contact details to pester me for PPI claims I don't have.

Difficult to say that there is no more. The ombudsman has, several times, announced that claims are still being refused when they should have been paid out and asked that fresh claims be made. Quite a few forum members have been paid previously refused claims (well, the creditors have, via the IVA).

A DMP and IVA are two different things. It could be that they wish to pass the refund to you as it may not be cost effective to open your (presumed IVA) again to process it, but you may never know if you don't return their message.
Im on annual leave now, so they'll have to wait before I contact them. Although, they usually send an email followup with all their messages, which I haven't had, but they're usually for things like you're in arrears and you're not because of the letter time delays.
So, is that the case, if a PPI is found after your IVA has closed, it has to be reopened? If so, is that more paper signing?
IVA won't be reopened but any PPI will have to be paid across as it is an asset.

As Kallis says, the IVA won't be reopened, but the records will be accessed by the IP in order to distribute further funds. It could mean re-signing authorisations if the current ones are out of date. If you are lucky the IP might deem it not worth the effort and return any new PPI to you.
