Quick question re. Credit file. Does it need to state default for it to drop off after 6 years?
All my creditors have updated correctly bar one (Creation Consumer Finance) who keeps it on late payment (despite 2 years almost gone)
I complained to them and they advised their credit file team had informed relevant agencies of IVA/default date, on couple of occasions (thus refusing to uphold my complaint) Randomly i had actually contacted one of credit agencies a while ago to dispute the late payment issue, and they replied a few weeks later advising creditor would not agree to change from late payment to default.
If it is not correctly updated to default, am i correct that it will never drop off my credit file?

It has to be defaulted to give the 6th anniversary drop off date .... the default date must be on or around the date of the start of the IVA. There is a template letter and details of who to complain to here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
I echo Foggy's words. If you contact their Data Controller they will issue a default but it may take you a couple of attempts which is why it's good to check the 3 credit reports a few months before the Completion date.
