I’m just wondering if I can canvas opinion from maybe someone who’s worked in banking ( non regulated position) I’ve checked my contract at the bank and it does have a “may dismiss clause “ I wondered if anyone on the forum had gone through an IVA whilst employed by a bank ?
My thoughts are don’t tell as I am not credit scored whilst in my role but I did wonder if non disclosure if discovered would cause more likelihood of a potential dismissal?
Any help will be much appreciated. If anyone needs to know the bank I’d be ok with providing that detail.

I think a call to HR anonymously is needed to ask the question. For me if there is a clause written then honesty is probably required

I would imagine, as, it seems, with most things, it will depend on the individual bank and how they enact their policies.

Because banking is such a highly regulated environment, they will need to satisfy themselves (and be able to evidence to their regulator) that any risk of inappropriate behaviour by an employee in debt is mitigated and managed. How they do this individually is likely to be down to the bank themselves and I suspect that there is no common 'rule'. What is the exact wording in your contract? Do you have a staff handbook?
