I am considering the iva as an individual, my daughter has a horse and with insurance, livery etc it costs around £160 per month of which my husband pays for this. Will she have to get rid of it? I also pay my son who is 20 and a student £100 oer month will both of these have to stop once I enter into an iva??
I doubt very much if your son would be able to claim 100 per month if you enter into an IVA. Not sure about pets I think certain expenses involving pets might be allowed within reason.
A travel pass costs £110 per term, I also got books from amazon, some of them only cost 1p.
I hope you get on Ok with your IVA proposal but it helps once you have spoken with an IP to get an idea of what is allowed and what isnt, every family will have a different set of circumstances.
I take a different view. Educationsal support to your son will usually be allowable so long as it is clearly explained within the proposal, and if your husband can cover the horse's costs from his disposable income I cannot see why this would affect your ability to make contributions into an IVA.
Its been a tough lesson and I would rather have had it any other way but I guess sometimes events take over. I came out the other side, thank goodness, I just kept on climbing.
