messed up my post !
good evening-what i was hoping to ask was i have had only 2 default notices in writing from 2 of my creditors.
i hope i am right in think that from the date of my iva approval-29th dec '08 my credit score is shot for 6 years. what im wondering is because i havent had default notices from the others will they just add them to my credit file also what if they decide to send me a default notice in the next few months-does that mean it extends the time on my credit file.
im not even sure why im concerned-i never ever want credit ever again
hope somebody might read and explain x

Hi
It is unlikely that they will default you now but if they do then the default will stay on your file for six years, so it may well be on your file for a month or two after your IVA drops off

This is a good point which now makes me wonder, I have recently received several default notices and a statement of account from virtually each of my creditors. Having contacted some of them they are quoting the new legislation that they say requires them to keep me informed and a couple have stated that although they are aware I am in an IVA will continue to receive default notices at regular intervals.

Does this mean that if I continue to receive such notices up until the end of my IVA that my credit file will remain adversely affected for potentially six years after my IVA has been finished !!!!!!.

If so this is not what I thought would happen and it would appear that 'creditors' have found a new way of penalising me at the end which seems a tad unfair.

I will also be wanting to remortgage which this will presumably affect !!

No - your credit file will be updated six years after the commencement of your IVA to reflect the fact that the IVA has concluded.

Thanks Mel, I was beginning to worry a bit, but I feel reassured now.
