I posted on this forum a while back before considering an IVA.
I decided to do it and I'm a year or so through it, which is pretty painless.
My wife and I (at that time) separated and I left the family home to live with a friend. He has now sold the house and as part of a reconciliation pact between my wife and I, I am now moving back into the family home but not as a man and wife senario - just as friends. It's gonna be hard lol.
I obviously have to tell the IVA guys that I have moved etc and that the rent has increased, but will this have any affect on my estranged wife? The IVA is in my name only, I dont have any links to the house or equity etc - will she be affected in any way?
If you are paying your ex wife a rent as you would in any lodgings it does not affect her at all. However, if you are paying the mortgage, heat and light, council tax and the general running costs it could be argued that you are accruing an interest. Even that would be unlikely as your IP would not allow you to pay more than you would pay if you were renting privately. You say that the rent has increased. Is it substantial and will it affect your ability to fund the IVA?
How will you be sharing the household expenses? If you are paying her rent, as you obviously were when living with a friend, I imagine that things will continue as they are at the moment.
I'm not 100% sure about that, but one of the professionals will be on shortly to give advice.

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

You are going to have to speak to them anyway to inform them of the change in circumstances.
Just run it past him/her.

Yes I think that you do need to run this by your IP.
I believe that you are no longer in a relationship with your wife, and are therefore paying rent to your wife as you would if you were lodging privately with someone else, but this view may not be shared by your IP who may see you creating a family unit again.
