I went through a full and final IVA a couple of years back. Shortly afterwards i wrote to all my creditors asking them to change my credit file to reflect the fact that the debt has been settled. Everyone did this apart from capital one who ignored the letter. I look at my credit files online so i can keep a constant eye on them.
I wrote to capital one again about 3 months ago and again requested that they update my credit file. Again they just ignored it.
What can I do now ?? Are they legally obliged to update my credit files and reply to my letters ?
very good advice ginger3232, these people get me mad...

Enclose copies of all previous correspondence, and insist that they update your credit file as it is inacurate and in breach of Data Protection Act Principle 4 which states that personal data must be accurate and up to date.
Send everything recorded delivery.
If you have no joy write to the financial ombudsmen and information commissioner enclosing copies of all your letters sent to them.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
Totally agree - they have to remove the defaults back to the date of IVA acceptance, they're just trying it on so dig your heels in and threaten to take it further.
