That maybe true Melanie - but I don't think the various regulators would accept "it was a bit difficult" as a reasonable excuse for an IP not meeting their duties - it's one of the joys of working in a regulated industry I guess.

In my own job I am expected to deliver excellent client service and achieve challenging profit margin targets, whilst complying with strict and prescriptive internal and external procedures. At times this is extremely challenging but my bosses certainly will not accept failure to deliver just because it isn't easy.

Having been in contact with GT recently; they have now promised that I should be on target for a completion certificate by the end of April 2012. 15 months after my last payment, but still - there appears to be light at the end of my tunnel.

That's good news Carl - let us know when you receive it.

Carl,
I would continue pushing Grant Thornton as in my experience they will fob you off as long as possible, I have read a post on here where final payment was made in July 2011 and they have received their completion certificate. I have asked what their criteria is for clearing back log as i settled before July 2011 and am still waiting !!

That is a very long time to wait for a case to be closed Carl. Are there any particular reasons for this of which you are aware?
