I am looking at taking out an IVA but I am so scared and at times suicidal about my position.

Thank you Lesley. I will still post on here if that's ok - I do find it very supportive. I am very frightened.

Certainly OK Denise ... post away. There is usually someone here -- you might even find Mel at silly o'clock of a morning ( she never sleeps)!

Sorry another question. Do I have to inform my mortgage company if I take out an IVA? Will this affect my mortgage? Another night with no sleep

Your IVA company will inform the mortgage company of your IVA. As long as you keep paying it will not affect it.

Right I am going to try today and be proactive. I cant go on feeling like this. So if ok with every one, and not sure if I need to start a new thread. Can anyone on here who has applied for and been successful in an IVA application, where they had equity in their house which was level to or just below the total of their debt, please post how they managed this within their IVA? Was their IVA still successful regardless of them having equity? Thank you x

I'm sure you'll get replies Denise but bear in mind an IVA is an Individual voluntary arrangement. No one size fits all so do talk to the experts as proposals can be tailored for you and with a good IP creditors can be reasonable.

Hi again, Denise. Why not try emailing Melanie direct. Her contact details are in her profile. Obviously difficult to speak on the phone with mum around, but you can get some questions resolved by email, I am sure.

Thank you. I think initially this would help me so much. I have just checked and all I can see is the online query form where I have to put a telephone number in, in addition to my email address. I don't want to waste Melanie and her teams time by submitting my telephone number and then not being able to answer it because my mum is around?

Email Mel and explain your difficulty to her and she will deal with you via email or your phone when your mum isn't around. Google Jones Giles and I'm sure there will be a way to speak to her.
