This is my first post [:)] I found this forum at about 2.30am when I couldn't sleep because of money.
We've been doing a debt management plan for almost 5 years and it has another 15 years to go!
I really want to see if we may be able to do an IVA. I wanted to do one in the first place but we couldn't afford to pay enough, I'm hoping now that we might.
We've been working with Payplan from day one and they've been great so far. I'm waiting for a call to discuss the possibility of an IVA and keeping my fingers crossed.
We have about £23k in our DMP and £27k as an unsecured loan with our current mortgage provider. We are seriously struggling each and every month and feel like we not getting anywhere. Can't even re-mortgage to help us as our property is currently in negative equity.
Not quite sure why I'm posting but it's not something I can really talk to anyone about.
It would be great to know of anyone's experience of going from a DMP to an IVA.
Welcome to the forum (i have deleted the other two identical posts to avoid confusion).
The forum is a valuable tool offering support and advice when you need it the most. There is normally some one about, day and night to offer a ear.
I would seek guidance from two or three providers of IVAs to ensure your disposable income is calculated in such a way that a IVA will be suitable. A good starting point for recommended providers is to look at www.iva.com
Let us know how you get on.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
Firstly I'll unlock the post as unsure why it was locked?
Secondly welcome...I've not gone from a DMP to an IVA I went straight into IVA but I'm sure others will have done and hopefully be along to share their experience.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
