My car(2002 astra with 125000 miles ) finally died on the way home from work ... The clutch went . :-(

I wanted to keep my car until November , this was when the iva would come off my credit file .

I couldn't sleep all night due to me needing a car for work .

Today I went to a local garage and spotted a 2010 astra SRI .

£7850 !! , really nice car .

Spoke to the sales manager and was honest about my situation .
He said they deal with a local finance company that look after local people .

I said there's no way they would give me finance , he said you've nothing to lose .

Anyway , I applied and recieved a phone call from the managing director of the company !

He asked me a few questions and went over my iva ( sent him the certificate before hand )

He said at the end , I will give you a chance - we will Lend you the money :-)))

7% , £208 per month for 3 years with £1000 deposit .

There is decent people in this world .

What a nice guy , personal service :-)

Pick up the new wheels tues

Excellent! I guess one of the things he had the sense to realise is that, if nothing else, the IVA shows a pretty good track record of being able to make a hefty repayment every month :-)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Great news.. sounds very much like the 'David Fishwick approach' (Bank of Dave fame) to lending
Half the lies you tell aint true

Sensible approach from presumably a local finance company.

great post and great news for you

funnily enough i was reading somewhere on internet yesterday , that local lenders tend to be more flexible and have competitive APRs in many cases. i wondered how this could be the case, but its obviously true in many cases

well done for getting through your IVA & like me , being able to resume a normal life afterwards.
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Agree with all the above and very good point made by Foggy re payments. Thankfully not all finance people are dinosors!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
