I know most people who go through the IVA process to conclusion are probably happy to start a new chapter in their lives and well done for seeing it through as I know everybody circumstances are all different. An IVA is an excellent way to try to get their financial lives back on tract and it is by far not on free.
Like all businesses today there are good and bad ones and IVA companies are no exception and I must say this forum is a great comfort and communications tool and all who contribute to it especially the forum experts who are attached to IVA companies. My gripe is with the other ones Grant Thornton Creditfix and other ones that have been named on this forum who to them you a re just a a number statistic etc and are to me are their to extract every breath out of you without any compassion or consideration on what you are having to endure.
Whilst individually if I complain through the relevant government bodies I might get a standard letter and a promise to do better really these companies need to be brought to account and given a sharp lesson and told to up their game. I have trolled though this forum many times of the last number of years and nothing seems to get better and all I can say if anyone is thinking of entering an IVA do your homework and choose carefully
I had a lucky escape from the clutches of Grant Thorton who where appalling and I did choose PJG who where excellent until passed over to Creditfix who just don't communicate.
I think there are good and bad in every company and everybody has different experiences.
I was fine with Payplan but I know of others who weren't.
I would certainly complain as you feel strongly enough. If there are enough complaints then maybe something will be done about the companies who get consistently bad reviews.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

If you do t like you bank you can change if you don't like your energy supplier you can change if you don't like you insurance companies you can change. If you get a bad IVA company your stuck!
I know I am an exception, the plethora of other posts on GT's treatment of them substantiates that. But I had 4 trouble free, well communicated and fair treatment from them when I got passed to them from BE just after year 1 end.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
Luluj that is true but when mine was transferred to Creditfix I had no choice and the relationship is non existent and nothing I can do about it. I can shout to them all I want but it won't make a difference in fact they could in theory make it worse
Hence this is where my grievance is I have very little rights to address things
I agree we all make our choice and then through no decision of our own we get transferred without consultation to another company. Be a different story if we could make the choice who to transfer to, but the IP I'm sure sells all the IVA's to the new company.
We can but make the initial choice and go with whatever follows. I was lucky and stayed with Melanie throughout, however reading some posts on the forum makes me recognise just how lucky I was.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
I'm with FJ and to be honest they have been fine. I had a phone chat with them yesterday as I'm nearing the end, they answered the phone promptly were very courtious and very helpful in what is happening.
But in the early years they were very abrupt lazy and downright condescending in everything was my own fault.
I found talking to women and not men,the women were more understanding and considerate.
This just my opinion but my iva has gone quite smoothly
