Last week I applied online to change from a select silver to the rewards select silver. We were turned down with no explanation other than the fact that they were unable to help me. Really don't understand their logic there. We are no longer on the IR although our credit scores are still rubbish and will be until next year. On the plus side, we have both been accepted for Capital One credit cards and have a credit limit if £1500 each. I used the card this week in a supermarket just to make sure it worked and it felt so strange. I will continue to use maybe once a fortnight and then I've already set up direct debits to repay the balance in full each month. In the main, I feel happy with the way things are going but I have a real issue with our names being in the Gazette and anyone googling our names will clearly see this online. I imagine everyone on here who has been transferred from one IP to another will also be in the same position. I really don't think there is anything I can do about this and it will be a long waiting game before the search engines remove the listing, and maybe they won't bother to.

Don't worry - nobody is going to look at the Gazette and the Insolvency Register will have been updated but your credit reference will be shot for the six years. My name never showed up in a search other than as an author or real estate agent (I wish!)

The IVA is there, in all it's glory, on your credit reference agency files for 6 years, along with the various defaults, so might have a bearing on the outcome of your application. By law, if they use a credit reference agency they are obliged to tell you so and tell you which one, although they don't have to say why.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
