Creditors meeting.

Hello to you all just joined this forum today. I have my creditors meeting on the 24th of march and im feeling very worried that i wont be accepted on the plan will let you know how it all goes fingers crossed for a good result.

Most IVAs are approved and your IP will not have proposed anything unless they were confident of acceptance. Best of luck from me too.

Your IP has put in a lot of work and won't get paid if it is rejected -- so he / she must be pretty confident. Best of luck.

Not really -- we have all got ourselves here through various routes .. not all of our own making. But a little crazyness isn't always a bad thing.

I agree. My life (even amongst the stress) is so much clearer;after so many years of ignoring the problem. This sounds weird but I have actually enjoyed past 2 months pre iva of budgeting. Has made me realize how much I over spent. With having no

Credit cards have been watching every penny. This has been a real learning curve for me. I know next 6 years will be hard but can't be any worse than previous 6. Even if iva not accepted , I know there are other options and I have finally faced up to my problems.

Once the iva is accepted see it as a 5 or 6 yr loan .... 60 or 72 payments. Here's a few suggestions on how to cope

1)Have a countdown on your fridge door and cross off the months
2) one year is 20% of a 5yr iva ... look at it % terms
3) move your money for food, fuel, clothing etc into 'cash' each month leaving money in your account for the known DD's
4) whatever is left each month even if it is only 50p ..put into a savings pot on the shelf
5) do your food shopping online ..order only what you need or visit the supermarket and stick to whats on your list - ignore the BOGOF offers unless you really need it
6) enjoy free countryside air ... get the family out and about; take a picnic; fly a kite
7) holiday wise - maybe visit family and friends away from home; or collect The Sun newspaper tokens for holidays
cook in bulk and freeze
9) think about what happens after your iva ... it will soon be the final year and you will be debt free !

Your welcome - what your experiencing now is what we experienced 10 years ago when we set out on our iva journey - never did I think 10 years on we would be debt free and enjoying our lives again.
