Cashminder accounts will accept cheque deposits over the counter in branch -- but do not offer a chequebook, so you cannot write cheques. It is in their terms, though, that these accounts are not to be used for business accounts (however, if subtle they will not notice!). A full blown business account is harder to come by while your credit files are shot. One or two forum members have managed ( at a Barclays brach in one case, I forget the other) to get one by appealing to the branch manager who over-rode the "computer says no" you usually get.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

You could also try Yorkshire Bank.

I have seen Barclays offer business accounts but you could also try Lloyds or Santander.
