I`ve been in my present home which is privately rented for 12 years.

Unfortunately, my landlords have now decided to sell the house, and I`ve been given the statutory 2 months notice to vacate the home.

I`ve always been up to date with my rent, utilities, council tax and so on. But, my question is this - Will my IVA cause a problem when an agent carries out credit checks on me when I find alternative suitable accomodation? I don`t intend paying out any more than I am at present on rent, so that in itself shouldn`t be a problem. It`s just how I`d be viewed in my application.

I wouldn`t want to get a guarantor.

You will certainly need to be upfront about your IVA as this could cause you to fail a credit check through a lettings agent.

Generally if you are open and honest about things you will find a private landlord.

You may have to put down a bigger deposit and if this is the case you may need to arrange a payment break to fund this.
Best Regards

Wow, is it really so long since I started this thread? Time flies. [:0]

Anyway, just to say that there was no problem getting a new tenancy agreement on another house. Obviously I was upfront with the letting agents who happen to be the same ones as with my previous home.

Been here a couple of years or so now, rent is always paid on time so it's worked out well.

Congratulations on finding a new home but also your IVA is almost a year and half further on. Hope the rest of the time flies in.
