Hi hope you can help. We have been out of our IVA for 6 months and this shows on our credit report, however I am concerned as we have had an accident at home and claimed on our House Insurance, they asked if we were bankrupt and I said no, - as the IVA is not bankrupt, They have now done a credit search on us, have I done the wrong thing and could my settled IVA put a close to my insurance claim - Thanks
Keep Smiling..... thats free!

In a nutshell no. An IVA is not the same as bankruptcy although you are insolvent

I think the reason they are asking is to ascertain whether they would have to pay a bankruptcy Trustee, rather than you, or whether they need to get permission from a Trustee to pay you.
