We have just sent letters off to creditors advising that we are looking into IVA and to contact our IVA co with queries. We got a letter from Mint yesterday (automatically thought "Oh here we go"), it thanked us for our letter and gave us loads of information that our IP would need, balance, rates etc. Is that usual or are MINT being unusually understanding? Anyone else had similar
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

Wow! That's a turn up for the books! I've never received, or heard of, anything like that before.

Hi angela

I had mint as one of my creditors for £3,500 credit card and I sent Melanie's letter off to them and had the same letter as you.

I think I had one other letter from them, NO phone calls though which I was amazed by. I had so much hassle from other creditors I did not even realise that Ihad not heard from them until after it was all accepted.
Funily enough though I had an RBS credit card also and they phoned quite a bit (I think mint are part of RBS)

Wouldn't it be great if all creditors worked along the same lines......[:)]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Mint, owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland, are one of the most helpful creditors in my opinion.

Thats encouraging for me - as my blogs said yesterday I have just cut up my cards and asking for interim payments myself for 3 months till I can sort things out and two of my cards, Tesco and Mint are both RBS.

I received one phonecall, I advised them that I was hopefully entering into an IVA and all they said was that they would update my records. That was in early February and I haven't heard anything since. No hassle like most of the others.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

It seems to be the ones you owe the least to, hassle you the most.
At one point, my husband was getting up to 9 calls a day from the Halifax.
I spoke to Littlewoods the other day and the woman was so nice on the phone - she took my details etc and I've not heard since - lets hope they are all preparing for my meeting on monday.

I had the same from Natwest, who I think are also part of RBS.

Now Tesco on the other hand were fine when I went into my IVA, but have been a pain in the bum since I went BR!

Hi Angela,

In my experience, Mint are usually very accepting of IVA's, however I did not know they went as far as sending you a letter with all the details you need - thats amazing [:D]

It may be that they are acknowledging the letter but are forwarding the info to you instead of the IP for fear of breaching the data protection act. Helpful nonetheless and indicative of the RBS Group generally.

I had the same helpful letters and advice from Mint whilst proposing my IVA, they were great.
Unfortunately once my IVA was proposed I was harrassed by not one, but two debt collection agencies acting on Mint's behalf, they made my life a misery with threatening phone calls and letters, telling them that my IVA had been approved didn't get me anywhere.
It took 2 months before they eventually accepted my situation and left me alone, obviously Mint's inter departmental communications system doesn't work very well. [:(!][:(!][:(!]
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST
