Very scary!!! The thing is they are all true.... I think the majority of people who declare bankruptcy won't actually come a cropper with the OR, I suspect it's the people who are trying to hide assets and earnings to avoid losing them. It does seem strange that it's a bankruptcy advice site and it's scaring the poo out of people who may be facing bankruptcy though.....[:(]

To be fair I don't think there is anything groundbreaking there. Anyone who enters bankruptcy who owns a house 'should' be well aware of the risks. Yes there is a certain stigma to bankruptcy in the way that it stays on your credit report for 6 years, and you would have to declare it with a mortgage, but then an IVA also stays with you for 6 years. If you had 'small' debts and assets to cover them, then surely you wouldn't be considering bankruptcy anyway... [?]

People need to be WELL aware of the concequences of bankruptcy - it certainly is not a soft option, but I think the scaremongering is a bit OTT here.

its sure just scared me.
i'm already worried to death starting my IVA incase it gets rejected.
Think i'll be looking for the nearest bridge if I end up at the BR stage looking at that website.

It is never that bad provided that you get good advice and support from this site, family, friends and a professional that can usually dismiss all of the misunderstanding and grey area around IVAs' and Br.

Debt is only just numbers on a piece of paper and you absolutely must not let it ruin your life.

look at john tegg and andy - they have both done tremendous things AFTER a debt problem and are stronger and wiser .

Hi admin ... would you be good enough to clearly define for us your definition of (a) a solicited link (b) an unsolicited link just so that we all know ... i.e do all links have to be passed by an expert first?

(Sorry ... if I sound a bit school marmish but I'm in essay writing mode and keep writing to students about defining key terms in the essays!)

Actually just finished marking the last of thrity-five 2000 word essays ... urrgghh

And I'm giving admin 92/100 for the definition! [:D] It didn't help of course that I didn't see the original post so I didn't see the link in question.
