I am in the IVA process and so far Barclays have contacted me the most. I have given them the same information time after time but today for instance i had a call this morning and i made a token payment of £5.00 and was told the account would be held for 7 days which should mean no calls. Then tonight they call again and i was informed the account had not been held. I think now i will just try and ignore the phone. They have also advised they may send a collector round, well come on down,i hope they like waiting on the doorstep whilst my dogs bark away merrily at them.

The one thing for people to remember is you will not jepordise your IVA's chances of success by hanging up on these idiots when it starts to get heavy. Unplug the phone, ignore it ringing etc but once you have decided an IVA IS THE WAY FORWARD THEN IGNORE THE NASTY FOLK WHO WANT TO GET BLOOD FROM STONES!!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.

Hi Jan, thanks for asking, just updated my blog. Struggling in a word. In some ways feel like a weights been lifted, but just a little. I think until the BR goes through that's how I'm going to be, up and down.

Some of the regulars were worried because they hadn't heard from you for a few days. Glad you are ok, but sorry you are struggling. I will dash off and read your blog now.

Keep positive. Big hug coming your way.

I got some 'harassment' from the L.T.S.B. call center about 3 months after my IVA was accepted.
I told my I.P. and they sorted it out and I even got a hand written apology from the manger of my branch[:0]

Just forward any letters or threats to your I.P. and they will sort it out for you, you are protected

Our IP spoke to Barclays today, it appears they did'nt "tick" all the boxes on there system re our IVA!!!!

If they contact anymore our IP will tell them the debt is cancelled/void

Barclays really are the worst. I have spoken to them twice since my IVA was agreed last Friday and told them about the IVA and they keep on phoning. When I spoke to them they still said that I would have to make the full payment of £6k there and then! The thing is most of the calls are the silent ones. Think I'm gonna write a letter to them complaining. Stupid idiots.

Think it was in the paper last week that some poor soul recieved 78 calls from Barclays in one day.
I thought new legislation had come in on October 1st regarding the way in which Banks can pursue people for Money.
I have noticed they now have to include a letter from the department of Fair Trade in their letters if you are in arrears.
I have 5 accounts now with Barclays as they took over Morgan Stanley and i have had quite a few calls from Mercers but the majority have been okay once i explained we are in the IVA process, however they do seem to be the most perstitant bank.
When we first entered into DMP's we had loads of calls from MBNA and they were quite aggressive. This time round they have only called a couple of times , not sure whether that is a good or bad sign !!

I'm trying to get Barclays to amend my credit files - they have sold the debt on to Max Recovery but haven't amended the entry so it looks like I have 2 debts! They keep writing to me to tell me they are looking into my complaint but they are sending the letters to my old address! Luckily we're still having the mail forwarded but it's not the point. I've written to them asking them to contact me at my new address but I'm not holding my breath!
