Hi

I just got my final certificate and completion report today so pleased and happy now. At long last no more stress and debts. I never ever want that mess up again with debt. But the question is, does that mean my name is now off that dreadful register as it's over 6 years now and i need to have a good credit score. I am terrifried of the credit scoring as i need to rent a property and I found somewhere i like

I have not paid any fee yet to check my credit score but will do that soon. I will phone my IP tomorrow to see about my name taken off that IR if it still shows. When i did an online Check wth 'check my credit file' tool my credit rating showed good when i did not mention any insolvency incurred over the last 6 years which is correct as it's now over 6 years ago. I have never had any CCJs, always paid rent, Mobile phone, all household utilities, landline etc. without defaul over the last 6 years. I have had problems with credit cards but i do not want one them again for a long time anway. It would just be so unfair to fail a credit check just to rent when i am currenly doing that and have done for the last 6 years during the IVA and before that. I am happy to have completed and yet so scared.

Hi and fab news re the certificate. Give it a little time and your name will be off that register.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi

Thank you for this, giving me the confidence, i hope very soon this happens, as i want to sign up for a new proprty as soon as possibe. For the term of 5 years paying into the IVA i have been commuting every day to work with 60 mile round trip which was so expensive. I am grateful that the IVA allowed for the horrendous travelling expense. Now I want to live nearer to the office. it would be so much easier with less stress on commuting costs and car maintenance costs.

is there anyone else with this type of situation and how have you coped?

thanks

Maz

It cam take up to three months for names to removed off the insolvency register.

Well done for completing your IVA Maz, and best of luck for the future.

Hi, If the name is still on the IR even if over 6 years now will it sitll show up on a credit report? I have found a place to rent and I want to proceed to take it but with every thing else been in order i.e. no defaults in any payments over the last 7 years will it still have a negative affect on my credit score? I though after 6 years credit scores return to normal. This is so annoying now as it's not like I am applying for a load or credit card, i just want to rent a property and start on a clean slate.

It also states on my final report from my IP it says:
'I would also request creditors to ensure that the relevant Credit Reference Agencies are notified that their debts have been settled'

I cant wait 3 months, is there a number i can call to 'fast track' this?

Thanks

Maz

The credit report entries should drop off after 6 years from the date your IVA was accepted, regardless of whether the IVA is still in place. Have you checked your credit file Maz, to see what is listed for you?

Hi Melanie, thanks for reply, How would you recommend i proceed to do this? There are so many different agencies out there. What do i need to do? I also have this horrible adversion to giving my card details online! Presuming i have to pay to get this file? on one of the posts here i saw that someone said that even after 6 years even if the name is still IVA IR the credit rating goes back up anyway, is that true?

Thanks

Maz

It should drop off after 6 years. If you want to drop me an e-mail, I will happily send you a copy of the documents we issue to all of our clients with regard to credit rating repair once an IVA has concluded. This includes a sample letter that you can tailor yourself and send to all of your creditors.

I am so pleased now i passed credit check ok. And yes my name is now off that dreaded IS register. I can move on now and start new life and new place to live. I have been able to save for the last year as final payments to IVA stopped then.

Thanks to Melanie for all the advice and also big thanks to Steve at Freeman Jones especially if you have anything to speeding up my final Report and Certificate.

Its been a hard and tough over the last 6 years but now i feel free and want to just save and live within my means. The only credit i would consider in the future is for a car loan or mortgage. No more credit or store cards for me. The thought of having one those now scares me!

thanks
Maz

Hi, from now on i won't be at stranger anymore and hopefully be an inspiration and give advice based on my experiences to all others out there going through the same situation. I started posting on this forum for the first time back time back in September 2007 when my IVA started, that seems so long ago now and stopped posting after a year of being in the IVA. I was vary anxious at the start not knowing anyone who was in a IVA so this forum was very helpful knowing that i was not alone. I have only started to access the forum again after 5 years, I think mainly that was because my IVA was without any grief and i managed OK (most of the time) but there has been two stressful situations - that's another story i will post about them! The forum has been a great source of information for me.

thanks
