Hi All
Well after 6 1/2 years I have had a call from DFD today that my IVA can finally by closed and I am officially debt free!!! I can't tell you how please I am.
A little side note my creditors meeting today was to agree to finish my side of the IVA but to keep it open pending the completion of the PPI claims which is what caused 18 months delay. I should get my certificate of compliance within the next four weeks.
Its been a long process but I am so glad I went though with it. Now I am in a better position than almost everyone else I know. No debt and a clean fresh start.
In and IVA and looking forward to the future

So you get a Certificate to say you have complied with your obligations, but with the IVA remaining open due to PPI issues it cannot be removed from the Insolvency Register?

Hi so does that still mean it won't be removed from my credit file then?
In and IVA and looking forward to the future

Hi ianhrp,

I have a variation meeting in February (DFD) to hopefully agree to pursue PPI separately (I finished my IVA Jan 2013)

The variation states that the agreement will be closed while PPI is pursued separately. Did your creditors ask for a modification to keep your IVA open? If so, although you will have a certificate of completion, you will still be listed on the insolvency register etc?

I have emailed DFD tonight regarding this question and will post back the response.

AS it doesn't sound to me as if the IVA is going to be closed, then I doubt your credit file will get updated until formal closure can be recorded - but do check this with DFD and let us know the outcome as I am always interested to know what methods other IP firms are using to get round these irritations.

Hi
Thanks for the answers I will try and contact DFD (never an easy thing) and let people know as far as I am aware the meeting was held in order to close the close my side of the Iva and to keep the ppi separate.
In and IVA and looking forward to the future
