Hi all, I thought i would post. It has been nearly 12 months since we made our final iva payment, and I have to say it has been a good year.
We have been able to have a good holiday with my stepchildren to Disneyland Paris. Christmas was more relaxed as we weren't scrimping. And we are preparing to go on holiday in a few weeks with my parents.[:)]
The best thing is though, our money is all our own.
We have done a few extra things.
I needed a new car, so we have had some finance, and although we are paying a bit more interest than normal, its fine and we can afford it. I have also joined a gym - something I wouldn't have dreamed of doing in an iva.
And yesterday we had some good news. The council came to do a survey on our house, and through the home improvement scheme we are having a lot of work done. So I am super excited about that.
Hope you are all well. To those that are still in an iva, hang in there. It will be worth it once you have received your completion certificate.xx
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!

What a lovely update Flow. I'm glad your 12 months since final payment have gone well for you.

Good news about the house!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Was going to add everything changes after the completion of an IVA, its an incredible feeling, being able to spend your own money on things that you need or even want.

Ive only been 2 weeks since completion but have had 3/4 months since final payment, i have a holiday booked for Nov and looking at another in March, invested in a new bike for training and commuting, and live is just that much easier. Big save for a newer car, but at the moment enjoying life a little.
