I like Emma, enjoy being in my IVA, obviously I want it to end at some point, but am so relieved the pressure of creditors have been removed, things are tight but we manage. When I hear of all these banks having problems and savings being dispersed over several that aren't connected, I worry my £12.51 will be ok that I had left over from last month.

Seriously, Christmas is approaching and I am being very frugal and hoping I can manage, that weighs a bit heavy on my mind but apart from that I know I can manage and after Feb 09, when I've paid my arrears, obviously things will be a little easier. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Debt is a Monster so Tame it. That is exactly what most posters have done once they are up and running in an IVA. It is not easy to budget sometimes on tight allowances but it is definitely worth it in the end. You have recognised excessives and have at last come to terms with the issue. An IVA is not easy but as it has been advised as the most appropriate solution for you - go with it and if during its term your circumstances change then advise your Supervisor (IP) as changes can be made and creditors are happy to go with them if fair. Good luck to all in IVA's the future will be bright.

Still early days for us, but so far so good. We will have a little bit left over this month, despite taxing the car and putting it through the MOT, so that's encouraging.
Carl.

If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of credit card payments!!!

So far I've managed to get to the end of the month with a little bit left in the bank. I'm being very careful in these early months and trying not to eat into my contigency money. It was a great feeling paying for my last MOT and new brake pads out of my own money and not sticking it on another credit card. I realise that some months will be tougher than others but it's so great to not get 2 days beyond payday and realise you are already overdrawn!
Full and Final agreed 28th October 2010.

It is a good feeling. We were at the stage where we were straight into overdraft once pay had gone in. Not a good feeling.

If I've got a tenner left at the end of the month, I feel rich.

I never have any money left, but i get by and manage.

It can be stressfull at times when 1 week to pay day theirs only £20 left, but i try to think, every month that goes by its getting closer towards life without debt plus i am not getting in to further debt.

IVA as been the best thing for me to budget and i have constant piece of mind of no debt.

I remember before an IVA on every pay i had to write down all my outgoings, bills food etc plus loans visa cards etc and now only write down bills and food no loans no credit cards still gives me a good feeling

Thank you Lilli

We are ok We will of course miss him dreadfully but he is at peace he had been ill for many years.

However it times like this when you have unexpected expense that I miss the old credit card but I will still end the month in credit possibly only a couple of quid. As Kallis said it is great not to start the month in debt as my salary would just feed the overdraft not a good position to be in. I love not having to worry what the post man is bringing in the way of letter from creditors life is hard but so so much better. no money but no worries.

I was in a similar position that I couldnt afford funeral stuff, it was horrible but my family sort it out for me. It really is hard at first but time and all that. I am glad youre Ok and hope you continue to make (more of a fight right now I suspect)your way through the grief. Thinking of you anyway and always here.

Love and best wishes

big fat no is my answer. i honestly wonder how we get by and then think how will i cope with another 5 year living like this. all month i worry about not having enough money there then when we just scrape by and i'm relieved, its time to start again to worry for the next month. might sound dramatic but thats basically all my life is about. how sad.
we've had everything that could go wrong go wrong. even today the b***** electrics blew. [:(!] luckily my hubbys friend came and sorted the problem with our box thing with all the switches(i'm not clued up)otherwise god knows how much it would have cost to fix.
all our bills have gone up but wages is still the same its a nightmare every month. were on the max allowances already but what can you do if your bills are over that? we've already cut back on loads but if they keep putting prices up what can you do.

Hi Lilli

Thank you for you kind words. Even though he was 86 and in ill health the end was very quick and unexpected but very peaceful. As the original daddies girl I will miss him a lot.
I felt awful that I could only afford a small floral tribute for my dad when my sisters each paid £150+ for theirs. I know it isn't about the money but at least my flowers were paid for each of my sisters paid by C.C.

It doesnt matter Jan, how big your tribute was, its the love it came with that counts. Youre right too that you paid for them with real money. Its just so hard after all the haliboo of the funeral to get back to normal isnt it? I mean what is normal? I know everyone says this but time does help and no matter how much you try, you will be fighting your way through it at this time. Just remember to be kind to yourself, tell yourself how fragile you feel and dont let anything get in the way of that. If I could give you a hug right now I would.

Still thinking of you.
