Having read alot on this forumn, an IVA is a positive thing but brings challanges and why should'nt it, its a way out.

its a way out for us with debt problems, instead of going bankcrupt, and even though in one sense our creditors are doing us favour by agreeing to it, they also get something out it, they get some money back were as in bankcruptcy they get nothing, IPS gain as well, they get paid and again why not they are doing a very good job, basically its a win win win for all three parties.

So becuase of this their should be a bit more allowance, i am not saying allow for holidays etc like a BR, but maybe work out expenditure and add 10% for anything else, ie replacment washing machine that kind of thing, probably less IVA's will fail, IPS still get paid and creditors get paid something rather than nothing and alot less stress for people in IVA.

I am interested in what people think about this weather you are in IVA, BR , an IP, Creditor or been discharged from BR or completed an IVA

ps - i am not having a dig, just interested in what people think in general

no matter how bad money gets, theirs stll alot more important things in life - 48 payments to go

I completely agree with you James - contingency expenditure is extremely vital to the long term success of an IVA. I just wish that we could get the CCCS ank banks generally to recognise that this would improve their returns and not diminish them!

Totally agree James, my washing machine went up the spout before Christmas and couldn't afford even the cheapest replacement 'cos the little contingency I had put aside had been swallowed by rising costs in mortgage interest and petrol costs! I was lucky enough to have a mum who offered to buy it for me as a birthday/Christmas present but what about those who don't have that option?!
