As one of the creditors is aking for medical report on likelhood of returning to work.

Will copies do or will they need orginal.

Believe i might have to pay for this from my doctor, so if have 6 creditors dont want to ask for 6 different letters from doctor if the charge me for every one.

Maybe all creditors might not ask for it but will i be best in keeping Orginals of bank statements and medical report.

Technically you should not have to pay.

The creditor should send you a form for you to sign giving your doctor permission to respond to their queries. They should then send that to your doctor directly (it will probably be a form), and they should pay the doctor for the information.

After all, it is not you that needs this information so why should you pay?

What I would do is this. Call your doctors surgery and ask how much they would charge for this report. Once you have the price, write to your creditor informing them of who your doctor is, the address and the cost of the report. Advise them that you will sign the consent form and return it to them as soon as you have received it along with a stamped, addressed envelope, and that they will need to forward the consent form with their questionaire and a cheque for the appropriate amount to the doctors.

Having had my privacy invaded several times by people requiring this type of information, it bugs the life out of me that we have to provide it. But stick to your guns. If they want this information, they have to pay for it and do all the running around. Not you.

Good luck.

Oh, and make sure that it says on the consent form that you require a copy of the report to be sent to you. You also have the right to see the report before it gets sent to the creditors. This should all be on the consent form. If you take that option, the doctor will send the report to you first and then you will have to call them to say it is ok to send it onto the creditors. You also have the right to have information removed if you decide that it is not relevant to the situation.
