Hi All Happy New Year to you.

Yesterday we received a letter from Tyler Morgan enclosing a "IVA Newsletter" does anyone else receive these? We didn't ask for one and we don't know who they are?

Many thanks

I phoned them and asked them to take me off their mailing list as I've moved since my IVA and I don't want to give them my new address, but I don't want the new occupants knowing I was in an IVA either!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

You cannot switch IVA providers - so these letters are utter rubbish!

We received a flyer from an IVA firm to say that they 'could make our IVA cheaper'. We laughed in disbelief and threw it straight into the bin! As Melanie says, you cannot change IP (luckily we're with an excellent one) and anyway if you could, what would they be able to renegotiate that your existing IP couldnt? Creditor agreement is based on individual circumstances, presentation of that situation and proposed dividend. So are they saying they could argue cases more convincingly? Doubtful.

This is the problem with a public register isnt it - our details providing a good source of input to companies looking to make a quick buck! Typical in the capitalist society we live - market for anything these days!

I've never looked at my register entry so dont know what level of information is out on public display. I'd be interested to know whether the government are making cash out of this also by selling additional information about an individual case or more general statistics (e.g. average age of people with an IVA within a specific region; common reasons for people of a certain age having an IVA).
