That's why it's important for the IP to be available in the office (annual holidays and illness excepted) rather than on the golf course[:D]

There are so many good points of view in all the above posts it is a great tribute to how a forum - this forum specifically!!! - can represent differing points of view but in a polite and reasonable manner.

If I may be a bit juvenile on a Friday night - all the sausage references have really given me a chuckle. The thought of some of us sausages emerging from our "factories" clutching our IVA proposals does conjure up a funny picture!!

On a serious point - I think that the professional views of posters like pbeck, Jo Rolland, and all the other experts on this forum provide an invaluable source of advice and information - and it is brilliant that they make iva.co.uk what it is.

And just for my two pennerth - there are many happy clients who have had workable IVAs presented, processed and completed very successfully by the larger firms, who are regularly inspected by their relative regulators and I have heard that some of them are well run and others are not so well run. When you get PLC companies who have to report their success or otherwise to the city, it may be fair to say that the motivation to earn money and present favourable statistics could get in the way of client service, but I don't see why that should.

In my practice we are currently processing between 40 and 60 client cases each month - I speak to all of those clients at least once and my staff build up a working relationship with them which lasts throughout their case - and if they want to speak to me or e-mail me they can at any time. Some people may call us a "factory", but I prefer to use the word specialist - as that is exactly the service we advocate and deliver.

Hi, I'm with Payplan...a large company so I guess I'm a sausage too. I've found Paypaln to be really friendly and helpful. When I started and felt stupid for getting in this mess I was never judged by them. The advisor I spoke to just got on with helping me. They arranged to 'phone me at my convenience including a Sunday night when my advisor had gone to stay with her sister. She spent over an hour on the 'phone with me getting my proposal right. When my IVA was accepted, she spent another half hour going over things with me, making sure I understood my responsibilities. At review time she took a very positive approach to what I was trying to do and encouraged me to carry on.
If that makes me a sausage in an IVA factory so be it.
