Hi c.bn and welcome to the forum

You would be better off finding a private rental than waiting for a council property - as I imagine that you will be fairly low down the housing priorities. If this is going to cost more than you are paying your parents, you will need to discuss the impact this has on your IVA payments and whether a variation to reduce them is sensible.

If you can get a letter from your parents, in effect a notice of eviction, and take it to the Council it may help, but obviously councils are likely to give more weight to those cases where children are involved. However, I have found that there are a lot of Housing Associations that provide single accomodation at reasonable rents so well worth having a scout round in your locality for them.

If you're willing to share you can save money by house sharing. There's usually quite a few in the local papers and the net.

Try and find out what your local council have to say about the situation and if the news is not positive you can start looking at local rentals in the area.

Did you have a budget allocated in your IVA for rent and board at your Parents?
Best Regards
