Since having my iva approved does anyone else agree that you look at life differently. No matter what life throws at us ,or what a mess we get into,we seem to get through everything somehow.

i do agree, you do look at things differently, even going for a coffee is a treat now whereas prior to life in an IVA,£3.40 for a starbucks mocha latte wasn't such a big deal, now my mind thinks I could make a family meal for that amount, thank goodness for my kind mum !!!!

Hi Rachellxx39, i agree, not only do i look at life differently i'm so grateful for all the things i've still got, my teenage daughter and i are so much closer than we were pre IVA, all the worry and stress i thinks, she used to ask for stuff and i just used to get out the credit card and buy it, now she understands the meaning of money much better as well and knows that we only get the stuff we really need and it means more to her
Plus i'm so much more relaxed nowdays - she used to tell me to go take a "Chill Pill" as i was always getting stressed with her.
Life is great now and i live it every day x

i agree, its also knowing excastly what you need to pay out each month & not worring about how much the credit card bill is going to be???

im expecting my first child in June and cant wait - somethings are worth far much more than money!

lets all be honest though, prior to it all comin crashing down ,i loved spending money ,stick it on a card ,do you not miss the ease of credit and its trappings, I know we were reckless 61k later, but it was a blast!!albeit we're paying the penalty now,I do worry about life after IVA,will I slip back into old habits??? lets have a lively debate about this and lay our honest cards out ,,,,,,who enjoyed it ?????

oldcazza, yeah gotta agree with some of the points - yeah it was good days doing shopping and blowing 100's on clothes but can honestly say will never go back there. as soon as my iva is over im going to try and save that £377 i pay into my iva every month to make sure any raining days that be paid for there and then.
once my credit rating is good, yeah i get another credit card but will make sure my limit stays at 500/1000 max. similarly once i do get some pennies saved i will get a mortgage but thats an investment not a bad debt

OOHHH god i loved spending money!!! and i do miss it big time but i dont need anything now - i've got clothes in the wardrobe i've never worn, stuff in boxes i've never used, jewellery i've never worn - i figured that after 5 years i will have lost the urge to spend, spend, spend
Good luck with the baby MB1982 - unfortunately i'm too old to do that again!!
