Your IVA is almost certainly likely to show up on a credit check, but that does not mean that you will be rejected as a suitable tenant. Someimes it is better to seek a rental property directly from a private landlord rather than going through an agency.

It will show up and some letting companies will not allow you to rent from them unless you have a guarantor and if you can provide they are usually satisfied.

Hi there

Just to let you know that we have been in an IVA for 18 months now and about a year into it our landlord announced that he was selling the house we were renting. We found another (better house) through a Management company and was completely honest with them. All they required was the usual deposit (which my mum gave us) and a Guarantor who had to sign the lease. This is pretty standard across the board as I did contact a few letting agencies. The only other way to get past this is to pay six months rent upfront(but that would be quite impossible for most of us!!!!!) Good luck [:)]
