Thank you all, my son is 'trying to get his head around it' they are his words. He has lots of friends and they're all supporting him well. We've been sorting through photos and doing the 'do you remember when?' bits.

I didn't sleep well at all was up most of the night. I was due to go to the specialist re my leg on Friday 31st at 11.30am, the exact time of Dom's funeral and was going to cancel it on Monday first thing. Today in the post a letter from the hospital changing my appointment to January 09! How bizarre!

My interview I've not given any though to but need to as it's a panel interviewing me and there are certain criteria I need to know they're looking for, I have a letter here which lists some but so far not done any research! Monday 11am is my interview. It's half term next week so Friday off won't be a problem. Thanks again to everyone you're all so lovely and I can't tell my son I come on here as he knows nothing about my IVA but if he did know he'd be amazed by the support I'm receiving from this close network of friends in similar situations.

They were so funny together I always called them Dumb and Dumber don't know which one was which but they always laughed!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Lesley,

So glad that your Son is getting the support from his friends too, that will help him a lot.[:)]

The Interview is probably the last thing on your mind as well, couldn't have come at a worst time for you but it may help a little to take your mind off things before the Funeral on Friday.

You're right,that is bizarre about the letter.[:0]

Hi, I did go for the interview totally unprepared, 1.5hr interview and grilling (well that's how I saw it) and around an hour later I find out I got the post! So promotion for me, I'm waiting the CRB clearance required for the post but that is a formality so looks like that's one bit of good news.

Only working Tues/Weds/Thurs, Friday is off to attend funeral and support son.

Lesley

I have only just picked up this post, and can I say how very sorry I am to hear your family's very sad news.

When I was in my early twenties, a very close work colleague of mine did the same thing at a similar age, and it was several years before I could get it out of my head that I could not have stopped him.

He was a bubbly, good looking and popular boy, with a glittering career ahead of him, fantastic parents and a lovely girlfriend. He left no notes, or any indication of his intentions, but we later found out that because of certain things that had happened or been said, that he must have been planning the incident for months. It was, and still is, so very difficult to understand or not blame yourself for not spotting anything.

Your own son is so lucky that he has the two of you, and although you have had a really trying year, you are fighters and will get through this together. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very dark time.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
