Hi folks. Do any of you have, or know of anyone selling an old car. It has to have at least 3 months car tax and MOT. Maximum price £500.
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

Check out Ebay as well.

Some people just advertise cars outside their houses so it might be worth keeping an eye open for those.

I hope you get one sorted soon.

I have been looking at the local papers and there are lots of cars at the £500 mark some with a few months MOT and tax the problem is. That I know squat about cars!! My mechanic says I should not risk buying a car at this price but he is not aware of my financial situation. Guess I am going to have to take a risk. I move onto days on Monday my wife (bless her) has taken annual leave to free up her car for me. I must have a car by the end of next week. Price we pay for living in the sticks (stix?).
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)

Hi Maxdebt. A friend of ours has a Peugeot 306 on an S plate it is a 1.4 engine and has 105000 on the clock. It has 12 months MOT but no tax and he will let it go for £750. I know it is a really clean car on the outside but smells of dog on the inside. If that is any good for you we are in West Sussex

I am going to see a Volkswagon Polo N reg with 3 months tax and 6 months MOT £395. I will kick the tyres and slam the door [:o)] Seriously I am going to look for obvious bad stuff. Googling hints and tips is just ridiculous it says stuff like 'a dirty engine is a clear sign of neglect..... a clean engine is a possible sign of a cover up'!! Sheesh!!! Smell the dipstick? [:p] I will follow basic common sense: Service history/MOT/Tax/Test drive/Brakes/

My son drives a P reg Polo and he loves it. No trouble so far. I drive a Golf much the same , infact the same engin. Just check no water in the oil as the headgasket has a habit of going in ones of that age. Also thermostat(cant spell) let the engin run for a while to see if the fan cuts in. Best of look.
