I can use my phone but it is really, really slow and won't let me open up any popups so I don't bother.

Happily am back in the land of the living today. Am really shocked at how I felt. I have always said people who cannot live without a mobile phone are sad, shall have to review this I think[8D]

I read ... I have dozens of unread books. I have however when waiting
for pc repairs felt rather ... disconnected ...

I have been on-line since 1996 & looking stuff up immediately is now such a part of life.

5 down, 55 left ... iva payments that is ... not books

I read as well - mostly in my breaks at work though and when I go to bed. My computer and my mobile are the two things I couldn't be without. My mobile primarily because of emergencies. I hate it if I leave it at home because I imagine all sorts of things going wrong on the way to and from work especially as I drive through a forest where there is a decided lack of phones!

As to the computer, I can't remember when we first went online, I know it was a long time ago.

I was with Which Online originally and had to pay for all the phone calls so was never on for long!

I first went online when AOL was on version two! Was certainly different ---- I miss that chirping / whirring thing it used to do on dial up (handshake in computerese).

Never had that problem at all. The worst time I had was when I was with BT up until August last year. They were awful!
