£96 & £84 for attending a Speed Awareness Course? Crumbs - It's gone up a bit since I attended one 18 months ago, when I paid £60. Seeing as I drive 60,000 miles per year I was mindful of the fact that if I re-offended in the 12 months after attending the course I would receive double points - that certainly slowed me down !! These mobile cameras can catch you anywhere - at least we know where the fixed ones are and can adjust speed accordingly

My husband tells me all the time that if there was a fine or course in return for driving too slow I'd get loads!

Aren't most speed cameras digital now, meaning there's no need for tape?

Not where I am. It's still film.

I'm surprised Jan. I thought that digital would be the way forward - better quality and no need for film!

They can't afford to replace the cameras!!! I work near the photographic dept and the Gatso officers are in every week with their film.

Good point!

On the subject of slow drivers I got stuck behind one last night - I'm sure he must have been drunk as I can't think of any other reason he'd be doing 29mph in a 50mph zone!

When I lived in Worthing we had a local vicar who drove his white mini everywhere at 10 miles an hour. And I mean everywhere .... through lights, across junctions, entering roundabouts !!! Thinking about it -- he probably didn't use the pedals at all ... the 10 mph being because he was on full choke all the time!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

[:D] Foggy!

My first car had a manual choke and I remember leaving for work one morning and flooding the engine as I reversed it out of the drive. I had a bit of a Basil Fawlty moment, shouted at the car and then left it where it was and walked to work! My poor Mum had to go and move the car as I'd left it half off the drive!

I hate slow drivers! I get so frustrated getting stuck behind them. As soon as I can overtake, I do. I was impressed yesterday morning when I followed a learner driver who actually drove to the 60mph limit!!
