At last we can say we will be debt free this year.
We have paid over £49,000 into our IVA with approx £6,500 left to pay. So we should be finished by end of May, the actual date will depend on us reaching the minimum final dividend.
I am off sick at the mo with flu and my husband is still waiting for his catheter ablation for his heart problem, but I'm feeling positive about the future at last!
We can have a holiday, maybe get a new car or I could just reduce my hours at work, ( after years of doing as much overtime as possible, firstly do keep up with our debts and since starting the IVA because my husband has been unable to work ), it would be nice to just be home more.

Mainly not having to constantly worry about money will be worth the last 5years of struggling.

Happy New Year to you all!!!

I agree that the first year is hardest. It's the unknown of thinking 'how will will manage at Christmas / birthdays / school holidays etc'. Once you've been through it, you know that you can manage it. We've done 2 Christmases, school holidays and birthdays and have managed fine. No-one know's about the IVA and keeping up appearances has been hard but we know it'll be all worth it in the end.

You're nearly there and I sincerely hope the next few months run smoothly for you xx
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
