Hi All

As many of you know I am in Dublin at the moment with work[;)] (honest, there has been lots of work going on along with all the eating, sightseeing and drinking!!![:I])

I have been so shocked with how expensive things are in Dublin and Ireland in general. The exchange rate is not good from te Uk at the moment as the euro is really strong but even so the prices do not compare with sterling equivalent.

For example on of the products I sell is £279 and it is 500 euros[:0][:0][:0]
I went in M&S to get food for training and was really shocked at the price of things. As a result I have not brought anything that is unrelated to work as it is so much cheaper in the Uk.

I will think twice about moaning in the future as the lady I was training explained that they even drive to Northern Ireland to get to a Sainsbury's and pay in sterling and can save a fortune on shopping compared to Southern Ireland.

FANTASTIC place to visit, but would work out very expensive to come for a holiday or break with the family.
The weather has been amazing also and I have had an absolute whale of a time - flying back to Stansted tomorrow[:(][:(]

Went to Ireland a couple of years ago and stayed in Killarney, which is cheaper than Dublin, but I was shocked one night when we went to eat to find that the restaurant we had been to a few days before at 6pm and paid reasonable prices for, had doubled its prices because it was after 8pm. Needless to say, we didn't eat there!

They have a bank holiday this Monday and the hotel rates doubled from the Thursday night I got here to the Friday and Saturday nights!!!
I know they have to make money and all hotels do this, but double is a bit ridiculous for 3 consecutive nights. Can't really complain too much as I am not paying but it still annoys me[:I]

Disgraceful! I hate it when hotels etc., do that. There's no need for it.
