Thanks Jan - we clean Nelson's teeth every night (much to his disgust!) and have done for about 4 years now but it doesn't seem to have made much difference.

Plasticdaft - hope your dear doggy's soon on the mend.

Thanks everyone for all your kind comments. It sure helps.

Liz

I'm in the same position as you Liz, our Staafy has just developed a lump on her jawline, we have paid £70 for two injections and a course of antibiotics and another £35 today for more antibiotics.

Not sure how much to remove a lump as I had asked the vet also to give me a rough estimate so I could get some money organised.

Its so sad when money stands inthe way of your pets health. We feel quite helpless as we adopted our Staffy from my sister as she could no longer look after her and she has been in our family for 12 years. The problem was noone would insure her because of her past health problems and her age.

I hope Nelson feels better soon xx

My cat priscilla had to go in for xrays as she jumped from top window, cost me 350 for 3 xrays and pain relief - had to claim from insurance myself - they took 8 months to pay me back!!! i can now say i have changed insurers
