Don't blame you Michael. You can do without any additional stress.

If you can bare to answer the phone then once they have tried to extract money from you and you have said NO! and you are going into IVA blah, blah then they hold the calls for 10 days.

You have to do what you feel best with though. [:)]

Hi,
I know that its easy to say but just ignore them and forward any letters you receive to your I.P.

I was with Lloyds TSB and I received a phone call off them two months after my IVA was accepted, they INSISTED that I should continue paying towards my loan/overdraft and if I didn't it could lead to court proceedings etc
I repeated myself several times that I had entered into an IVA and they were not to phone me but they weren't having any of it.

I phoned my I.P. and two days later I got a very apologetic letter from the LTSB saying that they were very sorry and they won't get in touch again.

I does take a few weeks/months for your information to filter thru to the correct dept, so much for computers etc speeding up the banking process hey[;)]

You have the backing of the courts now that you have entered into an IVA, just remember your rights and if any creditors phone or any letters that pop thru the door, just forward them to your I.P. and let your I.P.play them at their own game so to speak[;)]

Barclays and Barclaycard have been a nightmare ever since my IVA was agreed Hayley so I can sympathise. Like you I was receiving between ten and twenty phone calls from Barclaycard every day. They would phone me on my mobile and leave voice messages that I would have to pay to listen to so I could delete! Then along with the phone calls they began texting. My IP did eventually get them to stop. However I am now getting weekly letters from Mercers threatening to send round debt collectors. From what I have read on here they are empty threats and I just pass them to my IP.

Barclays Bank, have just started phoning me again after a month of silence and this time they are being very aggressive. It is unfortunate that you cannot pass on phone calls to IP's. When they phone now I tell them I will not confirm any details as I will not give personal information over the telephone. They then insist that I phone them in the morning and I tell them I am not going to do that and I hang up. I have everything crossed that I am as protected by the IVA as everyone says!

Hi Doesntstop
Give any callers your IP's phone number. It may be worth phoning your IP first to let them know and that they have your permission to say to callers from certain companies that you are in IVA.

You don't need to give your IP permission for this - it is part of the IP's job to deal with creditors.
