We are still in the proposal stage of our iva application but are getting so worried as My main creditor is Northern Rock and northern Rock is 50% of DP's.

We are with Melaie and know from reading the posts and dealing with her team that she will do her best for us but we feel so drowned with our debt and really want this IVA to be accepted. That way we could see a light at the end of the tunnel but with one no from Northern Rock it could all be over.....and BR would be our only option

Hang on in there. We have had significant successes with Northern Rock clients recently so try to remain as positive as possible.
Best Regards

Just to say, Northern rock have got no room to shout and refuse people's IVA's
After all they went cap in had to the goverment to be baled out of there mess
Its worth remembering that Northern Rock is now owned by the goverment
Any problems seek out the nearest MP and voice your issue

Well, of course it is now Taxpayers Money they have to look after......

Generally there has been a softening of NRs attitutde towards IVAs. However, they drive a hard bargain and if the NR loan was for 10 years and it has 7 or more years left to run, then you can fairly confidently predict that they will be keen to see you do more than 5 years, especially if a significant amount of debt is being written off. I'm not saying it's right, but that seems to be the commercial reality at the moment.

Northern Rock hold 29-30% of our votes and we too are nervous, we are also with Melanie.
At the moment we are telling ourselves what will be, will be - but really I am panicking.

I know how you feel REALLY I do.[:I]

NR hold 34% of our votes and we are with Melanie. BR is not an option as I will lose my job. I'm hoping and praying also that we get accepted ! I know that Melanie won't put any proposal forward she doesn't think has a good change it will get accepted. Good luck, I too know how you feel right now.
IVA completed September 2014. Finaly debt free - final dividend 88p/£

If the proposal is properly presented, and all aspects of your financial affairs are disclosed, and the proposal offers the best return possible for Northern Rock - and the other creditors as well, and most importantly you believe that you can afford the repayments, there is absolutely no reason why it will not be accepted by creditors.

Keep a positive spirit and let us do the hard work for you.

We do have faith and I have started to feel better as time as gone on. I am trying to deal head on with the calls and letters. Angela is nice and friendly when we ring - which is a huge help. I am hoping one day all this will be history and I am looking forward to telling our wee one about our journey.......more as a friendly warning lol. Thank youX

Reading through your replys i have begun to feel more hopeful than NR may accept our IVA. It appears many of us are in the same boat with NR.

Melanie, i read so many positive thoughts on you and am so glad we went with you , mymindis now that little bit lighter

I have had the same worried as you along the way. Barb put quite a lot into perspective for me one night - I owe her BIG time.
Thanks again Barb.
There have been over the last 6-8 weks lots of encouragement from well everyone really. I am slowly beginning to feel 'back to myself' (I refrain from saying normal as this I m not lol). I am recovering quicker from the calls and letters and am more confident that the letters I am receiving are standard - If I am unsure I post and ask.

Keep your chin up XX
