Its a compilation by various artists called "Ibiza Euphoria Volume 1" from 1999. (Not to be confused with other very similar CD titles!!!) It has a bright orange cover. There are a whole series of "Euphoria" CDs - I am only interested in the earlier ones and now have most of them - but this one is quite hard to come by (or so I thought!!). It has made my day to find it at last. Thanks to everyone above for the great advice.

Is this normal? Does anyone have any tips to avoid a last minute bid hi-jack??? I wonder if it was actually the original seller bidding for their own item as they were not happy with the price offered!!!

The golden rule is to make sure you're the hijacker and not the hijackee ;)

...there's software out there dedicated to helping you with such tactics - google for 'ebay sniping' and you'll get loads back to read.

Yes - thanks!! I was just thinking how we now take having a PC at home for granted.

Life in an IVA - with very limited money - would be a lot tougher without the Internet!!

What you need to do is user something like bid napper which automatically bids for you in the last few seconds so no inflated price! I have won all my bids this way, it's great! It's free to which is even better

I think all these things that bid for you take all the fun out of sitting in front of your computer and bidding in the last few seconds manually.

Wow!! A whole school of ebay lovers!! Can I join the classroom - I'll sit at the back and blow raspberries to the teacher!!

You can "watch" items, then bid in the last few minutes - that's a trick I use fairly often and works pretty well.

Also, there is something called "Bid Assistant" within "my ebay" which will automatically bid for you on a number of items up to a specific amount. Try it out!!

It's all good fun, providing you know your limits! [:p]

we use snipe.com (or maybe - co.uk) it gives 10 free bids per week so no cost involved at all if you stick within the 10 snipes!
Why spend life worrying...when you can spend it smiling!!

I know it's more exciting manual bidding but, if you're like me, you might run the risk of getting carried away and paying much more for an item than is reasonable. Also, how many times has an item finished at the same time you need to go to/at work, pick the kids up from school etc? I have paid more than I intended by getting far too deep into the bidding war that has started.... the buzz can be quite dangerous.....it's all psychological really......
It's nice to be back......

I found I sold lots more with a buy it now rather than by auction as a lot of people can't be bothered waiting for it to end! I did get a few good sales from auctions though with people getting carried away! I would then offer the same item to the next highest bidder and end up selling 2 for more than the buy now price!
Quite often when I've gone looking for books etc I've found them cheaper brand new from Play though. It's not as cheap now as it used to be a few years ago.

Those of you who are familiar with firefox as their browser may be aware of the e-bay edition.

I must admit I am one of those individuals who does wait until about the last 30 seconds before placing my maximum bid and so far it has worked for me about 90% of the time and then I sit there refreshing the page every 2 seconds until I find out I've definitely won the item.

I think the majority of our Wedding was sponsored by Ebay and I thought I was going to pass out in the few minutes of winning my wedding dress and it didn't help that my mum rang up going we're watching it to!!! (I needed a paperbag afterwards!) [:D]
